Biography
Grayson Cox is an artist, educator, and curator based in New York and the Hudson Valley. His interdisciplinary practice moves between sculpture, printmaking, installation, and participatory work, often exploring systems of exchange, behavioral design, social architecture, and the relationship between objects and human interaction. Through tactile materials and immersive environments, Cox creates works that function as both images and interfaces—spaces for reflection, participation, and collective experience.
Cox has exhibited nationally and internationally, including projects with the New Museum, SculptureCenter, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and exhibitions in Warsaw, Tel Aviv, and Maihar, India. He is the recipient of awards including the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Grant, the National Society of Arts & Letters Career Award, and a NYFA Emergency Grant.
In addition to his studio practice, Cox has taught for more than fifteen years at institutions including Pratt Institute, Columbia University, Yale University, and SUNY Purchase. He is also the co-founder of The Clearing, an artist-run exhibition and educational platform in Cragsmoor, New York
